Depart Tirana early in the morning towards the historical town of Gjirokastra, known also as the “stone city”, and the birthplace of the famous Albanian writer Ismail Kadare, and the birthplace of the dictator Enver Hoxha. Enjoy a fresh break at Uji i ftohtë water springs, before continuing towards Gjirokastra. Once you arrive, you will have the opportunity to visit Gjirokastra Castle, the medieval bazaar, the Museum of Weapons, the fortress, and more. Before heading back to Tirana, lunch is ideal in one of the traditional local restaurants, so you can taste the culinary culture of this magnificent city as well. Return to Tirana late in the evening.
